Scorponok Version 2

Back for more is Scorponok the 6inch deluxe movie action figure... version 2! Painting Scorponok was quite fun the first time, so I decided to do another, more "movie accurate" version. I took several screencaps from the DVD of Transformers to determine exactly where and how to color him. He ended up as a nice metal flavor with some bronze sections and light silver highlights. I also darkened the tips of his drill claws and legs to give them a worn, dirty appearance. His tail stinger fires normally and he transforms like the regular toy. I opted to make him another sand dune base but this one comes with some desert bushes, rocks, and Army soldiers ready to use their pea-shooters on ol' Scorp when he pops up.

Paints used:
- Testors Model Master Acryl Black
- Testors Model Master Acryl Guards Red
- Testors Model Master Acryl Dark Green
- Games Workshop Citadel Boltgun Metal
- Games Workshop Citadel Chainmail
- Games Workshop Citadel Brazen Brass
- Games Workshop Citadel Elf Flesh

Scorponok was first basecoated in Black then drybrushed Boltgun Metal. Several chunks were then drybrushed Brazen Brass, with highlights in Chainmail which is a bit lighter than the Boltgun Metal. His eyes are Guards Red. The sand dune base is made from Aves Clayshay with craft sand poured over it then sealed twice to prevent the sand from rubbing off. The Army soldiers were painted Dark Green with some black detailing and Elf Flesh for the skintone.
