Proton Rifle

The Proton Rifle is the perfect compliment to a Ghostbuster team looking to effectively trap ghosts but keep the collateral damage to a minimum. Rather than replacing the function of the proton pack, the rifle serves as a lead-in to specter capture by acting as a focused-fire weapon that can track and stun an entity with a condensed burst of particles. Once the entity is stunned, containment beams can then be thrown into place without the need to cause constant damage as the beams would when tracking a moving entity. The drawback is the rifle only stores 8.5 megawatts of power per charge so shots must be aimed and precise. Turbo-charged and slime-injected, the Proton Rifle is the best of modern Ghostbusting technology.

I designed the Proton Rifle for people who are part of a Ghostbuster group and who could not yet afford a proton pack but still wanted a carry a "weapon". The trigger tip rotates around the barrel and the knob turns. All of the tubing is held in with tension so it will not fall out but can pull free if snagged. The decals are designed in Photoshop and printed on quality vinyl.

Paints used:

- Krylon Primer
- Krylon Flat Black
- Krylon Chrome Aluminum
- Krylon Fusion Nickel Shimmer
- Tamiya Acrylic Chrome Silver
- Tamiya Acrylic Clear Green

First everything was sanded and primed. The outer casing is Flat Black, the rear portion and handle are Nickel Shimmer, and the front portion and barrel is Chrome Aluminum. Chrome Silver was drybrushed on and sealed in with an acrylic sealer. Black and Gray artist's chaulk was dusted on for weathering and scorch marks. Clear Green was poured through the vinyl hosing and during the drying process the hose was pinched randomly to create the slime bubbles/splotches in the hose.
