Protoform Optimus Prime
Here is Optimus Prime in his Protoform, one of the first figures from the Transformers 2007 Movie that I decided to repaint and customize. His right hand was removed and Rare Earth Magnets were added to reattach it. His Energon Blade also attaches with a magnet and is made up of a curved blade from a dollar store toy that I dremeled straight and used several parts from a mechanical pencil to complete it.
Optimus was first base coated in Tamiya Acrylic Metallic Blue then drybrushed with Tamiya Acrylic Flat Aluminum. Certain large sections were then painted more solid than others. Tamiya Acrylic Clear Blue was used in the front windows and in small panels on his shins. His hands, hips joints, and sections of his arms were left black but detailed with Tamiya Acrylic Metallic Gray. The gun was done similar to the body but with Testors Model Masters Acyrl Flat Black used for the scorch effect. Testors Light Blue Enamel was used for his eyes. The Energon Blade is a fade effect using Red, Orange, and Yellow from Testors.
