Ecto Goggles
My first pair of Ecto Detection Goggles from the Ghostbusters movies. They are not meant to be completely accurate, as I decided on a black color theme rather than the typical camo color for the frames. The lenses are made from various PVC pipe fittings, the knobs are a collection of things I had in my scrap pile, and the frames themselves are welding goggles. Authentic labels were created in Photoshop. Insulation foam was added to the inside rims for comfort. And finally, they feature two yellow LEDs that run off a small watch battery. Although I was sad to see them go, they were raffled off at Tampa Comic Book convention on August 10th to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Paints used:
- Testors Flat Black
- Krylon Fusion Satin Black
- Folk Art Sterling Silver
First a basecoat of Krylon Satin Black, then airbrushed over that with Flat Black. Weathering was done by drybrushing Sterling Silver.
