Dropkick
Just in time for Christmas is 6inch Movie Deluxe Dropkick! And he's my most detailed and pain-stakingly painted Transformer yet. I have spent the better part of the last few weeks detailing him with multiple coats, multple drybrushed layers, and blacklining every crevice. I chose to paint him a nice solid purple and was tempted to do a fade effect to another color but I started liking how solid the purple was after a while and kept it that way. He is as detailed as I could get him though, down to the chrome door handles and silver side mirrors. The only real modification done was to drill out the barrels on his arm cannons, but wow! What a difference that makes! Also I sanded down a few areas that were very tight and causing paintrub, so the paint holds great there, but the joints are still very tight so he is highly poseable. After transforming him so many times I am really liking this mold very well, he makes a great figure and is fun to play with. You can bet I'll be doing another Dropkick in the future.
Paints used:
- Testors Model Master Acryl Black
- Testors Model Master Acryl Aluminum
- Games Workshop Citadel Liche Purple
- Games Workshop Citadel Mithril Silver
Dropkick in truck mode was coated atleast 5-6 times with Liche Purple thinned down so that the paintjob was nice and smooth. Then details to his door handles, grill, truck bed, front and rear bumpers, and mirrors were done with Mithril Silver. In robot form he was basecoated Black then drybrushed Aluminum, with a few panels painted Liche Purple. His claw attachment was given the same treatment. His eyes were several layers of red to orange, each one smaller than the last, ending with white pupils.
